VHSL Doctor's Physical-- new law regarding physical date
Riverside parents, Virginia state code/law changed and now allows for VHSL physicals to remain valid for 14 months from the date of the physical. In the past, all physicals expired on June 30 and new ones were required each school year. Now, a physical may carry over from one school year to the next as long as it's not older than 14 months. When parents register their child for sports online (which won't open until mid June), they will be asked to enter the date of the doctor's physical. The Riverside athletic office will verify that date is correct after checking the actual physical paperwork. Parents will receive 30, 60, and 90 day automatic emails to remind you that the physical is set to expire. Please make sure to not allow a physical to expire, as this would cause the athlete to need to stop playing or practicing when the physical expired. Dear RIVERSIDE FAMILIES and FANS, Riverside High School is proud to announce that we have partnered with the NFHS Network to broadcast our Rams athletic events LIVE. That means that if you or family members can’t make it to the game, the live action can be watched from anywhere on your phone, tablet, computer or smart TV. LCPS has been working for the last year on the partnership with the NFHS Network to broadcast live all LCPS athletic contests. This process started well before the current COVID pandemic, but obviously the NFHS Network now provides a platform for LCPS families to watch any sporting event in the county during the current pandemic and spectator restrictions. Even after COVID, the NFHS Network will be a great way to watch games when you cannot attend or for out of town family and friends to watch games. CoEd Varsity SwimmingYesterday, at the Ashburn Recreation Center, the Riverside Swim Teams split their meet with Freedom. The Boys lost for the first time, 134-452, and the Girls won 176-105. It was an entertaining meet and the Rams celebrated their senior class in style — with a parade before the meet and a presentation during the meet. The Rams graduate 4 managers, Matthew Chicas, Sophia Cho, Elise Iglesias, and Ariana Nader, and 6 swimmers, Wyatt Blair, Bassem Ahmed, David Olorunda, Sanskruti (Sasha) Prajapati, Charlotte Duggan, and Sophia Kim, this year. CoEd Varsity SwimmingYesterday at the Ashburn Recreation Center in Ashburn, VA, the Riverside Rams and Loudoun Valley Vikings had an entertaining and well-raced meet. The Rams closed out 2025 with the Boys team winning 189-93 and the Girls team winning 186-96. This improved the Boys record to 4-0 and the Girls to 3-0-1 for the 2025-26 season. This gear is authentic to only Riverside Lacrosse. This shop is completely OPTIONAL. We have custom gloves and arm protection (3 different styles). There are also other items on the shop such as cleats, shafts, heads etc… By starting the shop this early, we will HOPEFULLY have the gear near the holiday season.
